Your codebook
Results
What it checks
- A unit of analysis stated once, and not left as the template placeholder
- At least three variables, each with a conceptual and an operational definition
- A level of measurement on every variable, and one of the four valid values
- At least two substantive categories plus a catch-all, so the scheme is exhaustive
- A description on every category, because a label is not a rule
- Category pairs that may overlap, which is the failure that destroys reliability
- Decision rules, and whether there are fewer than one per variable
- Examples, and which categories have none
- Template boilerplate and placeholders left in the file
